ASDE Membership Information

 

As most of you may know, for the past two years ASDE has been exploring developing an affiliation with the American College of Dentists (ACD).  We are pleased to announce that this affiliation with the College was approved by both memberships and is now in the final stages of formalization.  Combining the expertise and resources of both organizations, enable ASDE and ACD to enhance their scope, impact and visibility as leaders in advancing professional ethics in dentistry and dental education.

The dues structure and membership categories are as previously described in our recent newsletter supporting the vote for integration:

Affiliate Member: All members of ASDE who are not currently Fellows of ACD will become Affiliate Members of ACD, with full membership in the ASDE Section.  This is a newly created membership category of the ACD that enables accommodation of all of our members in the College.  Total dues paid to ASDE will not change and are $135 for non-Fellows. 

ASDE members who are Fellows of ACD: ACD Fellows belonging to the ASDE Section will be billed for their regular annual dues to the ACD and section dues for ASDE ($95), since their ACD annual dues already cover their subscription to JACD, the ACD newsletter, and administrative fees.

ASDE members who are Honorary Fellow of ACD: Honorary Fellows of ACD will be billed for ASDE dues in the amount of $95.

Please note that the distinction of membership categories has been developed only for the purpose of assessing membership dues!  For the purposes of member’s roles and functioning in ASDE, as a Section of ACD, there is no distinction among membership categories.  All ASDE Section members have equal rights and privileges within the Section.
